Randolph Rogers was part of the elite UNTIL strike force sent to infiltrate Dr. Phillippe Moreau’s laboratory in the Ural Mountain and stop Moreau’s terrible experimentation with vivisection and DNA amalgamation. His team drove Moreau from his mountain laboratory and captured Moreau (who was later freed by VIPER, who helped him relocate his laboratory to Monster Island). Unfortunately for Randolph Rogers, he was accidentally injected with a prototype serum of Moreau’s. A precursor to what would become his famous formula to make Manimals, and Rogers was transformed into the man-beat known as the Tiger. As Tiger, he eventually became leader of the superteam known as the Sentinels.
His animal DNA made him sometimes reckless, and during the Battle of Detroit, Tiger volunteered for a suicide mission against Dr. Destroyer which turned out to be, well suicide. His internal slumber was disrupted by the diabolical machination of Takofanes, who raised Tiger and twelve other fallen heroes, and set them loose upon Millennium City, with orders to destroy the living.
