Overview

There is a chill wind blowing through Millennium City. It's late October and the moon has taken on a sinister aspect, staining the sky a bloody red. The superhero Witchcraft, of the Champions, warns that this is a dire portent of an approaching mystical threat. There have been sightings of strange creatures emerging across the world, those of savage werewolves and flesh-craving zombies. Even worse, they bear with them the tidings of a great evil returning to the world... Takofanes, the Undying Lord!

When Takofanes last strode across North America he killed all who crossed him to swell the ranks of his undead army. The first attempt America's superheroes made to stop him resulted in the death of half a dozen of them. A second more concentrated attempt managed to drive Takofanes from the battlefield, but he could not be defeated. Now Takofanes has returned once again with hordes of his minions, citing prophecies of doom and proclaiming his coming reign over humanity!

Blood Moon was available to all players from October 27th through November 10th.

Unlocking the Celestial Power Set

In order to unlock the Celestial Power Set, players had to complete the In Memoriam perk, which requires you to complete the mission Celestial Endowment and free the souls of the 13 undead heroes. In order to free the 13 undead heroes, you must complete each open mission by defeating each of the Undead Heroes so that you can obtain the respective missions which will allow you to free their souls. These missions may also be shared by other players rather than completing the open missions yourself. Please refer to the next section (Dawn of the Undead Heroes) for more detail.

Events

There are three portions to this event, one is purely PvE, a second is purely PvP and and the third involves both PvE and PvP.

Dawn of the Undead Heroes

Takofanes has trapped the souls of the Heroes who fell during the Battle of Detroit and are commanding them to spread ruin across Millennium City!

There are 13 fissures to Takofanes' crypts located all over Millennium City. Each of these fissures acts like an Open Mission in that in order to gain access to the crypt, you must defeat the required 50 zombies and then the Undead Hero at that particular location. These Undead Heroes are best handled in groups, as they are Super Villains and there are hordes of zombies to go along with them. Upon defeat of the Undead Hero, you are awarded a Perk for that Hero and the fissure turns into an entrance, allowing you access to the crypt through a mission by clicking on the interact button where the hero was defeated. Once inside the crypt, you must fight your way through more zombies to free the soul of that Undead Hero. You must free each Undead Hero's soul in order to obtain the In Memoriam perk. The crypt is an instance and even though multiple people will be entering the crypt, you (or if you are on team) will have your own instance. It is important to note that once you acquire the mission to free the undead Hero's soul, you can then enter the crypt anytime and are not required to defeat the undead hero again.

The heroes' levels, as well as those of the zombies in the open mission, those in his or her crypt, and the boss in the crypt, are all the same, and appropriate to the mobs in their area. The ones in West Side are level 14-17, in City Center 18, and in Downtown 26-27.

Below is a list of all 13 locations of these fissures. As of 10/28/09 each fissure is on a 1/2 hour timer. Please note that clicking on the loc will take you the Crime Computer 2.0 map showing you the exact location of each fissure.

The Rise of Takofanes

The Undying Lord has risen, and is appearing throughout Millennium City. Those who are strong enough to defeat his retinue will receive unique perks and rewards only available during the Blood Moon event.

Takofanes will appear at one of three spots in Millennium City (see map). He spawns every 6 hours in each instance of Millenium City, and by changing instances you can find him multiple times. Defeating Takofanes will award the Thrash of the Lich King perk as well as the chance to obtain the very rare Foxbat Zombie Action Figure.

BITE!

This two part event (PvE) and (PvP) takes place in both the Canadian Wilderness and the Desert.

In each location you will find Lycan Werewolves running all over the place as well as Hunters, hunting them. In each zone there are two contacts, Claude Baine, a werewolf, and Aric Roston Rhodes, a hunter. In Canada, both contacts are found by Great Bear Lake and in the Desert, Snake Gulch. Additionally each contact has a marker on the map, one with a Cross, the other with a Moon. Each contact has two missions. The first set of missions are PvE oriented.

Tooth and Claw & Culling the Pack

During this PvE potion each contact gives out a mission which, depending on your side, requires you to hunt down either Werewolves or Hunter. Hunting down a sufficient number of Werewolves will award you the Silver Bullet perk. Please see, Tooth and Claw & Culling the Pack for more information. You can only complete each mission once every 24 hours and you can have both of these missions at the same time.

Wolf Hunt & Hunter Attack

During this PvP portion, each contact gives out a mission, which depending on your side, requires you to defeat either Hunter Players or Werewolf Players. It is important to note that you can only accept one mission at a time and in order to switch sides, you must drop the mission of your current side, you can only do this once every twenty four hours. Upon completion of the required numbers of kills, you will receive either Leader of the Pack or Wolfsbane, depending on which side you are working on. Successful completion of both perks will grant you the Bite Me perk.

By accepting the mission given out by either contact, you are given a device which will allow you to become a Lycan Hunter or Werewolf. You fight other players with a specific set of powers. Every Player Werewolf will have the same powers, as will all the Player Hunters.

To become a Lycan Hunter, you must slot the Sol Amulet in your device tray and click to use it. To become a Werewolf, you must slot Talbot's Talisman. Once in the Werewolf or Lycan Hunter form, you cannot switch back to your normal hero state. Only upon defeat by another player will you respawn and transform back to your original hero. Activation of these devices triggers you for PvP. It is also important to note, that while in these forms, you have no access to any of your heroes powers, including travel powers, slotted passives or blocks. The list below covers the types of powers used by each form.

Please see the Missions Blood Moon Hunter Attack (PvP) and Blood Moon Wolf Hunt (PvP) for more detailed information.
